This is goodbye, but is it forever?
E.g. Minigalaxy offers many of GoG Galaxys features (Tagging /u/anevilduck here in case he doesn't know it) and only has around 13500 lines of Code.

How to Install And Play GOG Games on Linux With Minigalaxy – A Simple GOG Client for Linux - Wine
https://sharkwouter.github.io/minigalaxy/

I'm thinking of changing over to Linux exclusively for a gaming exclusive set up. Is this sensible or should I remain on Windows?
HeroicGamesLauncher / MiniGalaxy: Launcher alternative for the EpicGamesLauncher / GoG.

Playnite 10 has been released. Open source video game library manager.
Besides there are other projects like https://github.com/sharkwouter/minigalaxy that has some of their coding from PlayNite and of their own to work on Linux and there are Tutorials like https://playnite.link/forum/thread-1156.html to make it work nonetheless. Also thanks to Steam's Proton layering, everything is easier at Linux gaming side.

Wine, Winetricks, Wineglass
There are plenty of ways to use GoG on Linux. You could download offline installers of games and run them with Lutris. In fact, Lutris seems to have it's own GoG integration (I haven't tried this though). Otherwise e.g. minigalaxy exists.
- For those who use Linux, which OS? I am looking for something that can do gaming & school work. I am a beginner.

GOG-Client MiniGalaxy
I am new to Bodhi-Linux and I would like to know if there is a way to install the Gog client MiniGalaxy (https://sharkwouter.github.io/minigalaxy/) in Bodhi-Linux. I couldn't find it in the package management and I'm not very familiar with compiling it myself.

Heroic Games Launcher is now on Flathub!
As someone who already uses MiniGalaxy, is there any benefit of also using Heroic Launcher? It appears the two install games differently, as Heroic cannot detect MG's installed games. My primary purpose is simply an installer which I can link via Steam for Steam Input (for my steam controller primarily, but also so I remember to play my darn games).

Epic Games releases free anti-cheat and voice chat services for developers
https://github.com/flavioislima/HeroicGamesLauncher you can kinda yeet official EGS with this
-
Very accurate...
Also all Blizzard games work perfectly in linux since improvements around 1-2 years ago, and there is now a native epic games launcher where lots of non-steam games work. People have also gotten Battlefront 2 and similar Origin games working, but I don't have much experience with that.

Looking to make the switch from Windows 10 to Linux. A few general questions...
Is this the epic replacement you're referring to? I haven't heard of this before. I've been running epic games through proton and it's a bit of a PITA. would be nice to have a more seamless experience.

What is my best option for playing GOG windows-only games?

[EpicGames] Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander (Free/100% Off)
It is not native Linux support, which would be a whole different ballgame... but there is Heroic Games Launcher: https://github.com/flavioislima/HeroicGamesLauncher. It's an open source Epic Games Store GUI for the Legendary EGS command-line tool.

Cannot install Epic Games Store via Lutris on Fedora
I did install it. But the game I am trying to play (Battlefront 2) is not showing up because it needs to be downloaded via origin. And this is not supported by Heroic. So I need to install the proper Epic store to be referred to origin in order to install it (there is no way to do this in the browser).
you should be using heroic instead of what you're attempting to do anyways. https://github.com/flavioislima/HeroicGamesLauncher

Epic Games doesn't start on Lutris Arch linux
This is the Heroic Games launcher, and I've found it to work great, you'll need to follow some steps to link it to your epic account and while it won't show the store all your games will easily be launched from there.
