Yeah 3D is hard I have to admit! You should be able to yes, using OpenXR backend. Bastiaan was working with a vive at some point I believe, but I'm not sure. You should check https://github.com/GodotVR/godot_openxr

Practice applying Computer Graphics experience for VR
I'm also learning VR and I don't like game engines so I'm building things from scratch using WebXR, including writing my own webgl shaders, managing matrices myself etc. I can teleport around my tiny world, grab things, snap them to one another.
