Which touchpad gestures package to install?
gnome-shell-extended-gestures: this one requires Wayland, not sure if this is okay or not
-
Touchpad swipes to control to go back one page in your browser in GNOME 40
I don't know where you can exactly read up on that. I guess go to the extension's github page and ask there. Here how it looks in the extension's settings.

trackpad gesture to "go back" in web browsers
There are some Github projects that provide both utilities in one (Ex. fusuma and fusuma-plugin-sendkey) and even some projects that already have the browser back/forward integrated in Wayland (Ex. gnome-shell-extended-gestures).

System76 Developing “Cosmic” Desktop Environment
Gnome 3 has gesture support. I don't think many are built in, certainly not as many as mac OS gives you out of the box. But you can go wild: https://github.com/mpiannucci/gnome-shell-extended-gestures

Two fingers horizontal swipe for ALT-TAB
Hi, before G40 I use this extension to manage swipe gestures, now with native gnome gestures I have some problem to switch from application to another application in the same workspace; is there a way to use two fingers horizontal swipe for emulate the ALT-TAB function? Thx

Is there is a way to change workspaces using the trackpad like the way Mac does?
I was thinking of this one: https://github.com/mpiannucci/gnome-shell-extended-gestures. The other person’s link appears to be a better fit though.

Questions before I install Linux
This is really dependent on your desktop environment. For example, this is a GNOME extension that adds extra touchpad gestures.

gestures in gnome
Are you using X11 or Wayland? The README.md for that extension says that it only works on Wayland (just like Gnome's built-in support for touchpad gestures).

2 Finger History Navigation in Chrome/Chromium
Also looking for an answer to this. I've tried gnome-shell-extended-gestures and it lets me map a multitouch gesture to "back", but only 3 or 4 finger gestures. No luck there for the 2 finger horizontal history controls I'm used to with Windows and ChromeOS.

System76 Virgo Aims to Be the Quietest yet Most Performant Linux Laptop
This is very exciting. After Dell and HP dropped out over the past year, I've been waiting for a company other than Lenovo to build a well-designed laptop with a pointing stick. I'm glad that System76 is taking the community laptop suggestions to heart (implementing a Thinkpad-style TrackPoint is the top suggestion by number of thumbs up: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions/issues/25).

System76 Teases Their “Virgo” In-House Manufactured Laptop
System76 is still collecting laptop design suggestions here:
https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions
The most popular suggestion (by number of upvotes) is to add a TrackPoint style pointer:
https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions/issues/25
I hope they deliver.

Oryx Pro users: have you used external monitors without the dedicated GPU on Oryx Pro?
I'm planning on buying an Oryx Pro, so I decided to go through system76's GH to see if anyone had posted any issues about the model. I recently noticed that there's a very old issue open on System76's repo for laptop suggestions (here: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions/issues/139).

Is System76 planning a fanless ultrabook similar to Macbook Air?
Add your support to open suggestions (issues) here: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions. S76 doesn't design any laptops themselves currently, but this is their way of gathering feedback on what we're interested in for whenever they do.

hardware kill switch microphone
A browse around the internet generally leads to purism and framework, but these are well designed manufacturer's solutions and I am looking for some good old DIY experiments. Several searches yielded no results, and according to https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions this is a much desired feature.

Why would someone buy a Linux laptop (System76/Slimbook/Tuxedo) instead of a same price Thinkpad?
S76 does not design their current laptop inventory but they are collecting feedback for when they do. Share your feedback: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions

System76 "in house laptop". Anyone else waiting?
No time immediately. S76 design and manufacturing has only just got to a mechanical keyboard. Less significant than that is the thelio chassis and I/O board. They seem to be taking this seriously and building up their capabilities. You can track and provide suggestions for their laptops here though: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions

How likely is it to ever see a 2in1 Laptop from System76?
Add the suggestion and/or support someone else's suggestion here: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions

System76 Developing “Cosmic” Desktop Environment
System76 is working on laptops designed in-house. It's a work in progress.
