    Better touchpad gesture handling for GNOME

    There are some Github projects that provide both utilities in one (Ex. fusuma and fusuma-plugin-sendkey) and even some projects that already have the browser back/forward integrated in Wayland (Ex. gnome-shell-extended-gestures).

  • ydotool

    Generic command-line automation tool (no X!)

    Second you'll need an utility that sends XF86Back and XF86Forward keys (Alt + Left and Alt + Right keystrokes work too). If you are using Xorg this is easily doable with xdotool. If you are using Wayland (which you probably are using in both Fedora and Pop OS) this is not supported for security reasons, but if you don't mind you can still make it work with ydotool.
