Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Should honestly make a bot to do this...
You can make your past github squares green. This is the reason you can do stuff like this https://github.com/gelstudios/gitfiti

Remember: non-technical recruiters can't tell the difference!
That's nothing to say about using it though you could really push it over the top by using something like this (or making it yourself for bonus points) to draw images or text on your github activity and drive the point home

Gamification Affects Software Developers: Cautionary Evidence from GitHub
There is even a tool[1] to draw images in commit history (so called gitifi).
It is possible because git allows to create and push commit with arbitrary date, using GIT_AUTHOR_DATE env variable or --date flag.

How do big corps handle github?
No one cares about commit history. There are even tools to jokingly spoof commit history. No one takes it seriously anymore. For example https://github.com/gelstudios/gitfiti

Ask HN: What side projects landed you a job?
If you still have the IPA file for it, you should look into seeing if it runs on touchHLE [1], an emulator for early versions of iOS. They also have an app archive if you'd like to give permission for them to preserve the game.

High-level emulator for iPhone OS apps
Very interesting. The "why" context seems to be buried in an issue comment https://github.com/hikari-no-yume/touchHLE/issues/181#issuec... and I guess the purpose is to emulate old iOS games, from the early Cambrian explosion of ideas at the start of the App Store. This is also an era I am nostalgic for, with lots of new concepts, art pieces, and indie games, before anyone knew how to sustainably monetize, for better or worse. For example, Distant Shore is definitely a relic from a simpler time! https://johnnybgamer.com/2009/08/13/distant-shore/

How to run old iOS game on M1 Mac?
So, it only does three 32-bit iOS games thus far, BUT, there's a chance in the future, this emulator will allow us to run the game you're talking about: https://github.com/hikari-no-yume/touchHLE
- Android support is now merged into the TouchHLE main branch (iPhone OS apps emulation)
