The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Game
I second gloss! It's a bit limited (no sound, fonts, nor even text centering, but you do have support for vector and bitmap graphics, color manipulation, mouse, keyboard, and animations), but it's so, so easy to use that I not only recommend it (or the similar Code World) for anybody's first game, I still use it for my newer games.

Looking for small finished games developed in Haskell
My Haskell reimplementation of Baba is You is also only using one screen.

I would like to build a 2D rpg. Which engine/library should I use?
The main limitation is lack of support for sound. It also doesn't support centered text out of the box (but is easy to implement), and only supports one font, which only supports ASCII. There's also a limit to how many transformations you can nest, but that's an OpenGL limitation, not a gloss limitation.

Is there a way to create a circle with a number inside of it using gloss?
not for an arbitrary Picture (at least not easily), but it is possible to get the dimensions of text s :: Picture.

Looking for small finished games developed in Haskell
My ludum-dare 34 entry does have scrolling, and some images which are only visible in some screens but not others. I didn't do any effort to load and unload them as required though, I just keep everything loaded at all times. One potential difficulty is that this game uses Haste to compile Haskell to JavaScript, soI don't know if your framework supports that.

Reactive Clojure: You don't need a web framework, you need a web language
Very cool Dustin. Reminds me (a little) of some work that the Haskell Haste folks were doing to blur the front/backend via the compiler. Interested to see what you learn along the way refactoring hyperfiddle.
