Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

FSRS is now the most accurate spaced repetition algorithm in the world*
What was your retention before, using the old algorithm? If you don't know, download the Helper add-on, Shift + Left Mouse Click on Stats and look at the True Retention table. Make sure to select "Deck life" at the bottom of the window.

I protest the medicalschool opinion that "Anki is garbage as an app" and present 20 interesting Game Anki Free add-ons!
FSRS4Anki Helper is definitely the most popular Free add-on for Anki in recently. The author has researched and written a paper on spaced repetition and can customize Anki's schedule to optimize it for learning.

How can i change review intervals?
It's better to think about the mature card hit-rate you're aiming for. Most people will aim for about 90% hit rate on mature cards. There are some schedulers that let you play around with the goal hit-rate - IIRC, this one does that: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/759844606. If you set a higher required mature hit-rate on a scheduler like this you'll see your cards more, which is what you seem to want.

How to stop counting on-due cards?
I let my due cards build up sometimes, and my strategy when I come back is to sort them by lowest interval because I figure those are highest priority. I think the fsrs4anki-helper add on also has a reschedule function that might work for you, although I've never used it.

Only 6 days a week...help!
Use FSRS4Anki with FSRS4Anki Helper add-on. It has an option to set "Free Days" and then it's not scheduling cards on the days of the week you choose.

I'm not sure I believe we understand our own learning/memory anything like enough for this not to be total pseudoscience? Reminds me of A Beautiful Mind.

How did I publish a paper in ACMKDD as an undergraduate? A fantastic research experience on spaced repetition algorithm. Open source the code and dataset.
Also, sorry for nitpicking, but I just checked the code here, and I saw that you changed the formula for post-lapse stability, but you didn't update the formula in the description here.

New progress in implementing the custom algorithm.
I have another one, also about difficulty. Look at the long "Stability updating formula after successful review" formula, there is a term D-b. This seems very counter-intuitive. A large value of D corresponds to an easy card, but thanks to that formula it will produce a very small change in stability. A small value of D corresponds to a difficult card, but according to that formula it will change stability a lot.

Implement a new spaced repetition algorithm based on anki custom scheduling.
So I checked this and it seems that there's a whole bunch of different parameters (initial difficulty, initial stability, etc), and a lot of them are constant. So the next step would be to use some kind of optimization algorithm, like gradient descent, to optimize those parameters based on user's review history, right?
