Ask HN: What apps have you created for your own use?
I created adult entertainment apps to organize and have fun with images and videos:
- RuGiVi: https://github.com/pronopython/rugivi - Browse your collection of images on an endless screen. Tested with more than 700.000 images at once!
- Fapel System: https://github.com/pronopython/fapel-system - Organize your adult images and videos by just using hardlinks and directories.
- TopZemen: https://github.com/pronopython/topzemen - Let the images float on your screen or rain down next to your browser window.
- Fplyr: https://github.com/pronopython/fplyr - An audio player to play moaning sounds in the background.
Everything for Ubuntu Linux and in parts also for Windows!

Ask HN: Show me your half baked project
Image and Media organizers running on databases were not applicable for me. The were not portable enough and their categorization always relied on their database so no chance the file manager or another program worked with it. Also I always had the problem with backups, renaming files outside the database-system etc etc. Regarding the sensitivity of the (adult) content, I also did not want to be dependable on big companies and their software.

Fplyr is a background audio sample and music player specialized in playing moaning sounds and relaxing music for adult entertainment purpose.

Trust-Based Moderation Systems
Slightly off topic:
I am trying to innovate on moderation systems and I run/code a whitelist moderated forum [0]. You can only see posts and comments from users that you follow. It's a very simple system and there really aren't any gaming vectors. One implication is that if a new user signs up and posts, no one will see it unless they follow. I've actually never used any typical censorship moderation.

For moderation, a user whitelist sits in front of the typical content blacklist, which introduces some interesting properties.

Ask HN: Websites that works with old browsers (mid-2000's browser)?
I think my forum should work:

I can't think of anything that would be broken except for maybe the logo which is an emoji character.

You may want to check out Comment Castles [0] (disclaimer, I'm the creator). There are 50k comments, but I have never moderated anything. Actually, there are no moderation or admin tools built into the project.
