- How do I add basic playlist.m3u to pseudoTV custom playlist?

CRT TV+VCR Trinitron as a retro media player Raspberry powered with QML gui
The other option I've been using as of late has been the PseudoTV plugin for Kodi. The new "PseudoTV Live" plugin for the latest Kodi is more or less dead and the developer's pretty much an ass to work with, but I run a legacy version of Kodi that's been gutted to basically only interface through this plugin.

Creating a network streaming htpc
Something like this in Kodi would work (there are several forks/branches of pseudotv around, so if not the one I linked then find another. I'm really not sure what the state of PseudoTV is these days). You can point Kodi to an SMB share of your files, or you can put your files up into something like Plex and use PlexKodiConnect to integrate with Kodi (or you could use Emby or Jellyfin and the appropriate plugin for each).

Spotifyd
Have tried this several times but I find it drops off the network as a remote play device.
If you have a PC with the Spotify app running, that appears as a remote play device to other clients.
Otherwise I found ncspot to be more reliable than spotifyd: https://github.com/hrkfdn/ncspot/

Alternative Spotify clients?
ncspot is good, although it's maybe the client least likely to mesh with the whole "let a music player control lights in my room" mentality.

Check out https://github.com/hrkfdn/ncspot I've found it better than any of the other tui based Spotify clients
