Is flatpak really the future?
You can host a flatpak repo as static files: https://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/hosting-a-repository.html. Flathub uses flat-manager which adds a bunch of features (build uploads, authentication, etc.)

Is flatpak really the future?
Or maybe create one for thinkfan-ui or keyboard-center - ah wait Flatpak does not support udev rules and packaging PyQT5 in Flatpak is a nightmare to begin with.
