Boot camps and other educational resources.
So, I’m fairly new to this group and I dare say that I am addicted. I have always had a deep love for computers plus I have always loved figuring out how things work. I am almost 37 years old and am in the process of learning how to code on Python. My eventual goal is to get paid to write code whether that be freelance or for a company. Right now though, I am looking for any coding boot camps or coding dojos that you all could recommend. I was just turned on to https://exercism.org/tracks/python and I wonder what other learning avenues there are that I haven’t discovered. Send me any thing that helped you learn or that you feel would’ve helped you learn when you were just starting out. I really appreciate it.

(after reading the FAQ) I have a few questions about StackOverflow, SQL books, and learning pace
It won't take you a year to learn, just remember the more code you write the faster it is you get better https://exercism.org/tracks/python because you will be reading the language documentation and figuring it out as you go. It will be slow at first but in a week of doing just little problems over and over using different containers and features of the language you'll do fine and remember what you learned because you figured it all out yourself.

Are you working full-time while completing this program?
It depends on your background, past coding experience, and how much stuff you have outside of work. If you are committed, then it should not be a problem. You have a while until you start, so plenty of time to start working on stuff now so classes go well. I started with python is for everyone https://www.py4e.com/ before taking my first class. Good luck! It is a fun program!

Suggested things before fall quarter ?
I took the free python course at https://www.py4e.com/ before starting at OSU and it set me up nicely for 161 and 162. I would say 225 was my greatest hurdle, as I am bad at math. If you are rusty at math in any aspect I would HIGHLY recommend starting some Khan Academy lessons in anything up through advanced algebra that is fuzzy for you. 225 is the only class so far I got an A- in and it wrecked me body and soul for a quarter :D Overall this program is what you make out of it and there's not a ton of handholding, plus there will extra work outside of it to actually do well in the real world (leetcode, interview prep, etc.), but it is a solid option to change your life (it's already changed mine) and I have enjoyed my time at OSU. Good luck!
