discord bot coding
I can confirm, Eris still around and kicking. And BTW has a great community too. Therefore, even I prefer Eris, the Python implementations for Discord bots are not dead either.
-
is discord.py dead?
Pretty sure isn't dying. Therefore, in matter of resources used and speed, I prefer to go with Eris who is a solid one and then work with NodeJS.

April 17th Update - Mostly Backend
First, our discord api library. For 3 of the last 4 years we've ran using Eris (https://github.com/abalabahaha/eris). However, we've been running on a modified version last updated in June 2019. This forced us to do a lot of newer stuff (for example replies) without the api library, and things got hacky and were often buggy. We have now updated this to latest, with our modified changes.

Found a way to create a tooltip in discord
Eris and Discord.js are both wrappers for the Discord API for JavaScript. Both are very similar. Here is the Eris repo: Eris Repo. As you can see, the basic structure is very similar. From what I see, the Discord.js library is more updated, but not necessarily more supported. Either way, it comes down to personal opinion.
