eGPU support on Linux
If you're ok with running X11, you can use egpu-switcher and modify the Xorg configuration yourself afterwards.

How to improve performance on Linux?
Only using Xorg since Wayland gave me more issues than fixes. I'm using egpu-switcher

Thunderbolt Secure Settings in BIOS
Try installing eGPU-switcher, make sure you have the right drivers installed, and as others have said make sure you have the right cable. Last thing, only plug in or unplug the eGPU when the laptop is off.

Any guides for setting up an eGPU on ubuntu 22.04 ?
You didn't mention the problems you ran into but it should be plug and play. You will have to set up the proper config for it to work properly, and I would recommend using hertg's egpu-switcher if you are having issues: https://github.com/hertg/egpu-switcher

Hotplug eGPU without reboot/re-login?
here is the hotplug script that seemed promising, but did not work for me (nVIDIA only) here is a more sophisticated-looking script that seems intended for Desktop-users though, and also specifically excludes hotplugging options...

Intel ARC A750 eGPU - A Niche Nightmare (help wanted)
The A750 is now a recognized PCIe device, and works with connected displays to an extent. During boot, KMS/Plymouth shows on connected displays, as well as GDM (albeit, laggy, but it did that before anyways). The problem starts with Xorg, where during startx, I get a No screens found error. My Xorg configuration was autogenerated by egpu-switcher, where it only fails in egpu mode (connected displays do not work in internal mode). GNOME on Wayland works surprisingly with my laptop display working as normal, but the eGPU's external displays come with various graphical glitches, stuttering, outputting to 1080i30 on a 1440p60 display, etc.

[Yes/No] Will scripting in Lua/ Bash going to be noticeably faster/ efficient than scripting in programming languages like Python/ JS? How do they compare for a script which I want to keep on running in background all the time?
It's this script that I was thinking of re-writing but I wanted to be sure it's actually going to be worth the effort.

Show/hide DWM bar by hovering your cursor over the bar area
So, I have stumbled upon to this github repo few days ago hideit.sh and this YouTube video BSPWMGlass-Green which showcasing how you can move your mouse to where the bar is and that bar will appear and will disappear once you left that bar area and i think to myself "Hey, this is damn cool and will save me more screen space". I look around on google to see if there's a patch for something like it. All i found is hideit.sh script which is compatible for polybar only. I wish there's DWM patch out there that implements this feature and add compatibility for barmodules and extrabar patch. Edit: It would be better if there's a toggle for it in the config file where you can enable either only topbar who take the effect or the bottombar if you already have merged the barmodules/extrabar patch to DWM.

Auto-hiding polybar for more screen space
The automatic hiding/showing of the bar is handled by a script called hideIt.sh. This script is a very fancy and highly configurable solution for hiding / showing any system window by only knowing their name. I have modified this script quite a bit to be able to move my main polybar together with the system tray and to support my popup bar in terms of hiding it at the right moment as well as to support pinning.
