yt-dlp-gui VS redvid

Just to be clear, I don't know ANYTHING AT ALL about computer and coding. I just want to know if this fork is safe to use: https://github.com/dsymbol/yt-dlp-gui I tested it on another computer and it seems to work fine, but I'm not sure if it can have strange behaviors or anything.

I would suggest YT-DLP. The product itself can be found here: https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp That is terminal based. There is a nice GUI application that can be found here: https://github.com/dsymbol/yt-dlp-gui Open source. No malware or any suspicious activity. Does what you need it to do and nothing more.

Switch to using yt-dlp then install the GUI if you prefer an interface.

yep ffmpeg is used but unlike libraries like Redvid you don't have to manually install it just to use RedDownloader. It is installed when you install the package with moviepy which is a requirement for the package

Thanks for pointing that out, yep i think there's a bit of misunderstanding i did mean that you don't have to manually/externally install ffmpeg as other libraries like redvid require you do so. Moviepy does use ffmpeg quite alot so i'll be quick to ammend that. I have seen so many people not wanting to install ffmpeg cause it seems complicated to them so this project was to fix that up.
