Maybe your terminal doesn’t support italic text. Looks similar to this issue https://github.com/dracula/vim/issues/81.

- In short, NeoVim is creating a bunch of very dangerous --- and in some cases --- unemployable beginners who have burned NeoVim practices into their brains and muscle memory. That's irresponsible and it pisses me off.

It's just used as an IDE to flex and nothing else
