Are there any choc dactyl manuform keyboards that I can print myself?
This is a 34 key choc dactyl https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard/tree/main/things/dartyl_choc
-
Are topre considered Ergonomic?
If you are fishing for something weirder, but still Topre, the Dometyl is a Dactyl offshoot that uses rubreh domehs and sliders. I have not tried it myself.
-
Minimising finger movement, but not the kind of movement you're thinking
You could use domes. https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard/ offers some technical advice and links to some products. Complex, and also expensive.
-
This might be heresy, but...
You're totally not crazy... or at least not alone in this! You may want to have a look at https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard/

How to get top plate of Dactyl Manuform without the bulky body that drops down ?
Try "skeletal" designs such as those from bastardkb.com or one generated from dometyl.
-
Don't see many failure posts,
Firstly, please consider a Skeletyl instead of a conventional Dactyl. Skeletyl has a lot less material and so is a lot faster to print. If you need more than 5x3+3 keys, you can customize your own Skeletyl style case as well: https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard

I currently have Logitech G915tkl. Looking for custom keyboard. What to get?
If you are into it, you can also build your own keyboard with hotswap switch sockets. The best option I know of right now is the Lily58L. https://github.com/Keycapsss/Lily58L-Build-Guide

First build, very basic
Bought all the components from keycapsss.com and I followed this build guide.
