Firstly, please consider a Skeletyl instead of a conventional Dactyl. Skeletyl has a lot less material and so is a lot faster to print. If you need more than 5x3+3 keys, you can customize your own Skeletyl style case as well: https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard
Note that while the standard advice is to get a Raspberry Pi for Klipper (which is still very hard to find at scalped price), you actually can install it on an old laptop, or even a VM that you installed Debian on. I got mine installed in a VM on my unraid server. Klipper can then be added with this script: https://github.com/th33xitus/kiauh. After that you will have to build a new firmware with Klipper and create a config file for your printer, which hopefully you can find instruction somewhere on the internet if your printer has a decent sized community around it, like an Ender 3.
