What are you using Django for?
My personal website is Django and is far too complicated but I enjoy tinkering with it: https://www.gyford.com . I include all my Tweets, Flickr photos, Pinboard bookmarks, and Last.fm listening using my app django-ditto as if Web 2.0 was still a thing. And track my reading and event-going using my other app django-spectator.

Looking for a Map Widget
I wrote this a few years ago, in case it's useful Add a Google map to Django admin to get latitude and longitude. The code in the linked-to app on GitHub has been updated since then, so it can work with either Google Maps or Mapbox.

Am I on the right track with my models and database?
In case you'd like to see a slightly more complicated real-world example, from my own website, here are my models for Publication, Creator (author), and PublicationRole which extends BaseRole.

Monitoring Linux package upgrades
Currently I am aware of https://github.com/furlongm/patchman but it's old software still using python2 and doesn't really take into account specific package pinning priorities. I also thought about using Ansible and/or Saltstack but both of those require SSH connection or custom TCP session in Salt case.
