what is the best way to send notification to a mobile app from django?
I used django-push-notifications because fcm-django was a pain in the ass for reasons I don't particularly remember (I just wanted to build a proof-of-concept).

How to configure Firebase Push Notifications in Django?
I used django-push-notifications as a library. You'd want the django-push-notifications[APNS]==3.0.0 for iOS I believe.

Push notifications from Django backend to iOS/Swift frontend not working...
- I did research into the best library to use. django-push-notifications (https://github.com/jazzband/django-push-notifications) looked like the most up-to-date library to use. The APNS portion is built on apns2 (https://github.com/Pr0Ger/PyAPNs2)

Django REST Framework: How to send push notifications to non-Google Android Devices?
Hey there, I've been looking into realtime communication between a Django backend server running on Django REST Framework, and a Flutter application. I've researched into Django Channels (Websockets), and the "Django Push Notifications" package (https://github.com/jazzband/django-push-notifications). I'm sure FCM/GCM will be a piece of cake to handle, but what about Android devices which do not support the Firebase SDK? E.g. Huawei, Mi devices etc which do not have Google Play services on them.

Show HN: Apprise (Notifications) Supports 100 Services Now
- [a web service (you host)](https://github.com/caronc/apprise-api) that can act as a sidecar. This solution allows you to keep your notification configuration in one place instead of across multiple servers (or within multiple programs). This one is for both Admins and Devs.
A lot of systems have already adapted to it such as HomeAssistant, Apache Airflow, ChangeDetection, Uptime Kuma and many others (<https://github.com/caronc/apprise/wiki/showcase#integrations>) which shows the commonality. Mailrise is an incredibly talented program that converts Emails sent to it to trigger notifications via Apprise.
*What else does it do?*
- Emoji Support (:rocket: -> ) built right into it!
- Show HN: LDAP Watchdog: Realtime LDAP monitoring for detecting directory changes
- Created a docker app to notify on new device connections

ntfy is a great tool. What do you use it for?
I tried it and it was nice but ultimately I switched to apprise

Self Hosted Notification Service
While I'm sure of Gotify and ntfy.sh, I'm not sure if Apprise will do the needful because on its github page(https://github.com/caronc/apprise) it lists all the paid and free notification services for integration so I'm assuming it is just a library like the one I integrated for my django api (onesignal library).

Self hosted alternative to email alerts?
I use mailrise which hosts a private SMTP gateway for Apprise notifications.
