Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Optical simulation showing in detail the coherent light wavefront reconstruction of a customized diffraction pattern from a 2021 shaped hologram
The method applied for this problem is described in this paper, and implemented in my diffraction simulator on Github

Confused on how collimator works
Hope that helps! If you want to play with lenses, I recommend a tiny simulator I wrote: https://github.com/vishwa91/optsys -- you can play with several combinations of lenses, sensors, and light sources. Hope you have fun!
What are some alternatives?
Quaternion - A Qt-based IM client for Matrix
python-lenses - A python lens library for manipulating deeply nested immutable structures
Incoherent-Light-Simulation - Simulation of the propagation of incoherent light, aiming to illustrate the concept of spatial coherence.
Python-Raytracer - A basic Ray Tracer that exploits numpy arrays and functions to work fast.
fdtd - A 3D electromagnetic FDTD simulator written in Python with optional GPU support
quaternion - Add built-in support for quaternions to numpy
prysm - physical optics: integrated modeling, phase retrieval, segmented systems, polynomials and fitting, sequential raytracing...
3D-printed-mirror-array - 3D-printable hexagonal mirror array capable of reflecting sunlight into arbitrary patterns
