dactyl_manuform_r_track VS compactyl

This is the build guide I am using. https://github.com/Schievel1/dactyl_manuform_r_track SPI does not seem to be needed. I guess that he chose the Arduino micro for the right side because of the additional pins for the trackball as well as the 5v output for the left side pro micro VCC. Would you recommend to switch to eg two raspberry picos and use 3.3v for VCC on the left?

So I was somewhat surprisingly able to successfully print half of /u/qqurn's tractyl manuform design on my Ender 3 Pro (using STLs from the tutorial here: https://github.com/Schievel1/dactyl_manuform_r_track)

A couple of minor changes i might make for 5.1, but STLs available at https://github.com/dereknheiley/compactyl if you'd like to build it asap.

The spacing depends a lot of the configuration, for example some iterations of Derek's compactyl made for SA caps have had very close edge to edge key spacing. Also centre to centre key spacing on key wells is easy to get tighter than Choc spacing, so even if you've configured with a little more gap for whatever your keycaps are compared to mbk, a press between them is going to be less off-centre than it would be for chocs (which also perform worse with off centre presses than mx).

I've modified dereks compactyl to remove the last row and get a regular 3x5, but I'm assuming you'll want to have the DM thumb cluster with 5 buttons rather than the compactyl one with 3, right?

Dereks compactyl repo also provides an adjustable way to position crystalhands palm rest.
