What was the loot chase like in vanilla D2 (Before Runes)?

Senpai and PD2 developers DID NOT create the D2GL plugin that enhances graphics. Nothing against PD2 devs, they're also awesome, but since you mentioned donating, do a bit more research first. https://github.com/bayaraa/d2gl

FPS drops
What fixed it for me was using D2GL 1.1.2 https://github.com/bayaraa/d2gl/releases/tag/v1.1.2 extracted it to my PD2 folder and now it's smooth as butter.

Large PTR Update: Bugs, Buffs, QOL & Big Graphical Update
We have implemented support for the new D2GL video mode by d2 community member bayaraa. In your PoD launcher you will see a new (very experimental) "d2gl" option to try out. Use CTRL+O while in a game to open up the D2GL options menu. This video mode supports high resolution text like D2R and has a faux high frame rate animation for smoother gameplay.

3) I would always recommend playing online (you can play in privated games) in case you do find friends within the community to play with but if you rather want to play offline - Plugy is the way. Files for higher singleplayer droprates
The item pack has a modpack now that you can use to adjust density, which is kind of like adjusting droprates. Options for 1.2x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x density.

Looking for SP Hc Item pack
Use the normal item pack and change your settings in the PlugY.ini file so that the shared stash is used for both SC and HC. Change SeparateHardcoreStash=1 to be =0 instead.

Hoto + Wisp bug ?
Dunno if this is the same bug, but there are issues with some oskills in PlugY when the shared stash has gold in it. If you're playing singleplayer, try removing all shared gold. The most recent PlugY settings disable shared gold by default, but that was only changed in the last few months.
