Ask HN: Favorite Random Markup Language
Recently, I've been pretty interested in hyper-specific human-readable markup languages for more specific tasks. Things like CookLang[0] (recipes), Traindown[1] (workout logging), and Fountain[2] (writing screenplays).
I was wondering what other kinds of similar projects people have seen?

cooklang-rs: A superset of cooklang and related tools written in rust
Cooklang is a markup language for cooking recipes. The original implementation was in Swift. There were implementations in many languages, even in rust, but that one didn't pass the original tests. That, combined with my desire to build a cooking recipe collection, started this project.

Question/discussion
There is an open source recipe markup language called Cooklang and there is an Obsidian plugin to display and edit cooklang but is hasn't been updated in a while. There is also a tool to import recipes from many sites and convert them to cooklang.

Ask HN: Meal Planning App?
I'm in a similar situation as yourself and I've been looking to do something similar.
One tool I've had bookmarked for this is Cooklang (https://cooklang.org/) which seems to cover most of the needs.

When Engineers Think Cooking/Recipes Could Be More Enjoyable
IMO, What we need is a website that is a combination of something like Cooklang[0] and a git forge - This way you can "fork" ;) recipes to modify and maintain attributions and have a machine readable format to convert weights, calculate dynamic portions etc.
Does anything like this exist?

lcd drawing tablet screen/pen viewport "mapped" over portion of screen, wayland
First, conceptually this is what I mean: think about when using a good screen-capture/annotation tool like flameshot: you select a region of the screen, and "magic" you can "edit" it, "in situ". No, what I'm talking about wouldn't share any of the same technical underpinnings with the way flameshot works, it would be the live monitor output, not a raster dump of the screen made to look like it's live. And the annotating would be done on a different screen. But as a user, this is pretty similar.

User Guides in Code Documentation: Empowering Users with Usage Instructions
Flameshot is a free and open-source screenshot tool for Linux that allows users to take screenshots of an area, a window or the full screen. It then provides an editor where users can modify the screenshots by drawing on them, adding text, highlighting areas, blurring parts and more. Users can save the screenshots in common image formats like PNG and JPEG, and upload them directly to image hosting sites like Imgur.

MSPaint like tool for Linux
This https://github.com/flameshot-org/flameshot/issues/1529 mat or may not be an issue for you with Flameshot, but it may be for others. It's solvable if it is an issue by using mandatory access control such as AppArmor or conditional build. Just FYI.
