I have a similar use case, I use a few different tools depending on specific circumstances. I wrote a very lightweight Python (2 and 3) script that allows access to the clipboard via a (extremely simple) web interface, it can run without clipboard access. Its called remote_clipboard.py and is available from https://github.com/clach04/toys4droids (can run on Android, I've not looked into iOS). It's basically an in-memory, single document pastebin (I've been meaning to spin it into a separate project) and optional (partial) qrcode support (only shares the server url).
