Pushing racial slurs to a GitHub public repo (not a shitpost)
I don't see how using a library would result in any functional difference from what you are already doing (presumably having some variable/text file that represents a list of words). This library for example literally just returns a list of words considered profanity by Google, and can be used in full isolation from the filter implementation.
What are some alternatives?
monkeyplug - monkeyplug is a little script to mute profanity in audio files
List-of-Dirty-Naughty-Obscene-and-Otherwise-Bad-Words - List of Dirty, Naughty, Obscene, and Otherwise Bad Words
AutoSub - A CLI script to generate subtitle files (SRT/VTT/TXT) for any video using either DeepSpeech or Coqui
profanity-check - A fast, robust Python library to check for offensive language in strings.
swearwords - Contains stuff like axolotl facts and pictures
netflix-to-srt - Rip, extract and convert subtitles to .srt closed captions from .xml/dfxp/ttml and .vtt/WebVTT (e.g. Netflix, YouTube)
retext-profanities - plugin to check for profane and vulgar wording
montag - Montag is a utility which reads e-book files and scrubs them of profanity
git-crypt - Transparent file encryption in git
srt - A simple library and set of tools for parsing, modifying, and composing SRT files.
cuss - 🤬 Map of profane words to a rating of sureness
