PSA: You can double your FPS and eliminate stuttering in Elden Ring by installing Mesa version 22
You should already have mesa 21.3.7. This repo has spec files that you can use to build mesa 22. Look up rpmbuild if you want to do that.

Is it possible to upgrade Mesa?
That would replace the default Mesa with your build. I recently added these instructions to the mesa-git repository: https://gitlab.com/freedesktop-sdk/mesa-git-extension. What I personally do, instead of replacing the default mesa extension, I build mesa-git using the version of mesa I want to test, and then I start the apps with mesa-git. That way I have both the default Mesa extension and my own build, and can use whichever I want in any specific situation.

Compiling mesa-git with H264 and H265 for flatpak
Make sure you have a clean working tree. A note on that, upstream still haven't accepted my MR on the branch release/21.08, so there isn't a .gitignore file on this branch like the one I created on the other branches. It's better to copy this file from master and paste it back after checking out the 21.08 branch, this will make it easier to check if the working tree is clean. This won't be necessary after this MR gets merged.

What is the state of raytracing with proton in 2022?
22.1 > 22.2 shouldn’t be a major upgrade? Wouldn’t that be 22.x > 23.x? Also there’s a mesa-git flatpak you can use. https://gitlab.com/freedesktop-sdk/mesa-git-extension

Fedora 37 drops VA-API accelerated hardware video decoding support
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that's in question too: https://gitlab.com/freedesktop-sdk/mesa-git-extension/-/issues/9

just to save everyone some time, I was never able to get this to work with Elden Ring, and it seems to be a known issue.
