I would completely disregard Tkinter at the moment. When I did a similar project years ago, the "concurrent finder" was a discrete part completely unrelated to the UI.

When I did my implementation in Clojure, the hardest part (besides the UI, since that was my first UI) was managing doing massive amounts of calculations over multiple threads. I ended up rewriting the multithreading part many times before I ended up with a design that I liked.

I did something similar to hack drones for a Capstone project, and I basically did as the above commenter described. It was a long process of comparing data in captures, and then trying to recreate the same traffic in response to an Xbox controller.

It's great. I've used it multiple times for projects. It was one of the big pieces of a drone "hacking" project I did for school. We encoded the drone's communication protocol into Scapy, which let us easily construct and parse packets.

This is what I did when I wanted to manipulate my wireless NIC using Python. I created a simple class that just uses subprocess to run iwconfig for me.

It depends on what your goals are. I just finished a long-ish, 4-month school project. It worked as planned, we demoed it, and now it sits on Github. It wasn't really made to be expanded (no unit tests :|), but if I ever wanted to package it, I could do it at that point.
