Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Who has usted Python-Can library with Vector hardware?
Then go to: https://github.com/hardbyte/python-can/tree/develop/examples and in send_one.py is example with Vector. Just comment with can.Bus() as bus: and uncomment Vector channel bus = can.Bus(interface='vector', app_name='CANalyzer', channel=0, bitrate=250000) with proper settings.

I'm starting a Python project to interface with my 2008 Nissan 350z via can bus, if you're interested (in the CAN Bus ID's, python code, etc.) then feel free to check it out
I wrote a python-can driver for USB2CAN that uses libusb, so you can use it on OSX. Unfortunately I keep forgetting to fix the couple of comments to get it merged into mainline python-can, but you can check it out here, maybe it helps you: https://github.com/hardbyte/python-can/pull/979 .
What are some alternatives?
SavvyCAN - QT based cross platform canbus tool
ELM327-emulator - ELM327 Emulator for testing software interfacing OBDII via ELM327 adapter supporting multi-ECU simulation
awesome-canbus - :articulated_lorry: Awesome CAN bus tools, hardware and resources for Cyber Security Researchers, Reverse Engineers, and Automotive Electronics Enthusiasts.
cantools - CAN bus tools.
VW_Flash - Flashing tools for VW AG control units over UDS. Compression, encryption, RSA bypass, and checksums are supported for Simos18.1/6/10, DQ250-MQB, DQ381-MQB, and Haldex4Motion-Gen5-MQB.
ICSim - Instrument Cluster Simulator
multithread-serial-logger - Simple multi-threaded logger with Qt5 GUI for embedded devices such as Arduino, ESP, STM32, etc, using standard UART.
nissan_ecu_hacking - Python code written to utilize the Korlan usb2can hardware to send and receive data over the can-bus on a 2008 Nissan 350z
rpi-can-logger - Project to log CAN bus data from a PiCAN2 and a GPS module
ddt4all - OBD tool
arduino-canbus-monitor - Can bus monitoring tool based on arduino and can bus shield. Implements CAN ASCII/SLCAN protocol compatible with Lawicel CAN232/CANUSB. Can be used for monitoring low speed CAN (interior can bus of most cars, less than 500kbps). For higher speeds serial port can become a bottleneck in case data density is high.
MCP_CAN_lib - MCP_CAN Library
