Metaprogramming custom control structures in C is a very good resource. I used those techniques to for instance create a C99 exception library: exceptional.

I made an exception library called exceptional with very intuitive syntax and semantics. It uses some crazy preprocessor tricks behind the scenes to make this work ☺️.

The sad story of UWCIran started when me and a few of my friends (we are like probably in the best 100 students in the country) decided to apply via the National Comettee; We all had great resumes that even as rivals, were scared of one being selected as they were better than the other Taking me for example, I had 3 World-Gold medals back then in world-renowned mathematics competitions ranging from Mathematics without Borders-Bulgaria, to SASMO-Singapore, could code effectively in 3 programming languages (C#, HLSL/GLSL, & C++), and even had started 3D-Modeling & Rendering in Blender in hopes of one day turning them into NFTs (My Art Gallery: https://github.com/HydrargyrumGames/ArtGallery); I even had manged to start my game development journey without any help from others (all online), and had even managed to send the a small beta of what I had been working on that I never ever got to release due to Sanctions! (Here is a small sample of my coding abilities: https://github.com/HydrargyrumGames/HgWebcamObjectTracking) And do you know where the best part was, you guessed it right, it was the part where I saw who was selected: A Game Streamer who couldn't really do anything instead of talking sh!t while playing on a Gaming PC that back then would have costed upwards of 8000$, A students who only had herself playing flute that sounded like it was that James bond meme, and an actress whose dad owned the entire theater! This was far beyond unfairness when we spotted that all my friends with resumes close me were all rejected without reasons, and even worse that we weren't given any reasons based on why we had been rejected! It's true that I started accusing them after the last names of 3 of the selected students exactly matched the last names of some committee members, but given that we were all given acceptable scholarships (for the phase 2 of course) by most other colleges that has ranks below 100 in the IB-World, I started suspecting that there was more to the story!
