The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.

If you can use packages, there is browser-history which supports all kinds of browsers and makes this process easier. (Disclaimer: I'm the maintainer of this package).

For those wondering, the map photos are taken via the factorio timelapse mod with full info provided in the git repository.

Vanilla Factorio has what is essentially a train traffic heatmap, just by toggling on "show rail signals" in map view. Red is heavily congested with trains, green means no trains present. (Base credit goes to u/gregggor and his friend, not me)
In the bottom right of the rendered map is a link to FactorioMaps which has instructions, mod link, and more to help you get going. I've run this two or three times myself so far.

OK actually he just uses some python and this: https://github.com/L0laapk3/FactorioMaps/blob/master/README.md, not the one that is an actual mod to the game.
