I'm trying to get WW working in widescreen, so I used the patcher linked on the Better Wind Waker Github page (https://github.com/WideBoner/betterww/releases/tag/1.5pre).

For anyone still unclear, this is the GameCube version of Windwaker being emulated through dolphin. If you have a PC that was built in the past 10 years or even a relatively newer laptop or Android phone you should be able to emulate Wind Waker with Dolphin just fine. As described there, deactivate the texture filter and the linear filter. Alternatively, download the newest release of the installer, it will handle that for you :)
