better_thermostat
This custom component for Home Assistant will add crucial features to your climate-controlling TRV (Thermostatic Radiator Valves) to save you the work of creating automations to make it smart. It combines a room-temperature sensor, window/door sensors, weather forecasts, or an ambient temperature probe to decide when it should call for heat and automatically calibrate your TRVs to fix the imprecise measurements taken in the radiator's vicinity. Thermostatic Valves plus Central Boiler setup questions
I simplified my original explanation a little. I actually use an add-on ( Better Thermostat ) combined with a separate temp and humidity sensor. It’s not necessarily relevant to your question about controlling the home thermostat (nest) but worth knowing about if you go down the rabbit hole.

Why is the Ambilight TV not available as a "light" in the Hue app?
If you still want to use Hue app to control the lights you can use Emulated Hue addon: https://github.com/hass-emulated-hue/core This will essentially create a new virtual Hue bridge with all lights that are added to Home Assistant.
