BeagleIM 5.2 release
Beagle IM is great for A/V calls on mac os x, and for its native look & feel. But for some reason, it is the only client I use that refuses to use Message Archive History from my fairly standard prosody instance. Conversations, gajim, dino and conversejs have no trouble at all. Related GH issue here.

Yup I did. OS integration not great (resizing the window is slow, maximizing), but at least MAM works (couldn't get it to work in beagle for an unidentified reason [1])

Instant Messaging: XMPP or Websocket
So XMPP is an awesome protocol in theory. Also many issues you're trying to solve are probably already solved in one of the specifications and I personally think that XMPP is missing out on clients. Some clients are nice (i.e. Conversations or Dino) but they are not as appealing as Telegram or Discord.

Is flatpak really the future?
I am missing proper tooling. I challenge you to create a fully working Flatpak of dino - ah wait not possible, because of a 4 year old issue not being resolved.
