The ARFoundation Samples repo is up-to-date, but you need to use the correct branch for your specific version of Unity. See the README's "What version should I use?" section.

Plane Detection with ARCore and Unity
This code is Unity's sample code which toggles between enabling and disabling the plane detection. You can check all their samples from here. Save the script and go back to Unity editor.

ARFoundations (ARCore) missing values in light estimation.
So I activated the light estimation in the ARCameraManager Object and used the provided sample script as starting point. I get values for the ambient spherical harmonics and main light direction for example, but for some reason I don't get any values for average brightness, color correction or main light intensity. I want to use those values to control a directional light to created shadows mainly.
