One of the few apps I actually pay money towards because it is awesome af...who else supports this one?
Audio Switch by Ricardo Sampayo, Browser Tabs (recent but a real game changer!), Calculate Anything, Case Converter and Lorem Ipsum generator by Brian Gonzalez. How about you?

macOS Ventura is now available
++2 for Alfred. AND it has plugins so you can search your Chrome or Brave tabs with Alfred as well. I just hit CMD + Shift + T and it'll search all my open tabs without the browser being in focus. I had to pay but it wasn't much. Use it everyday! https://github.com/epilande/alfred-browser-tabs

Looking for the best Command-Tab switcher (Contexts VS Witch)
I've recently been testing out some command-tab app switchers to see which works best, and have really enjoyed Contexts and Witch. I like the feel of Contexts more (it feels native), but Witch has the ability to view, search, and switch directly to any tab in any window. For instance, I can open a specific tab of Safari using Witch whereas with Contexts I need to first open the Safari window that holds the tab, and then manually switch to that tab from there. This problem can be somewhat overcome using the Browser Tabs Alfred workflow, but I still prefer having both tabs and windows both visible from within a command-tab app switcher.

Similar app to Tab Finder on Setapp?
A lot of the functionality of this is exposed through Applescript. There's an alfred workflow here that utilizes it: https://github.com/epilande/alfred-browser-tabs

After first trying Alfred maybe 10 years ago i finally used it properly for the past 2 weeks... I've been using my computer wrong these past 10 years.
If you have a ton of tabs open you can find the one you want quick with Browser tabs workflow.

Yabai – A tiling window manager for macOS
I use AltTab [0] for this. I find using a mac without it horrendous.

Collection of "Today I Learned" notes
If you're using a Mac, I really recommend alt-tab https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app/.
I love cmd+tab on a mac to switch between applications, but I was missing a feature to switch between windows of the same application. Alt+tab solves that in the same manner Windows does.

On Desktop GUI Minimalism
I know this isn’t the point of your post, but in case it helps your experience in MacOS:
1. You can change the setting so that workspaces do not change their position/order. See: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/214348/how-to-prev...
2. The third party app “alt-tab” provides an alt tab experience that is much better than the native one, and is likely more similar to the behavior you expect from Linux. See: https://alt-tab-macos.netlify.app
I also personally like to use Rectangle for window positioning using keyboard shortcuts, tried the various auto tiling solutions like yabai and amethyst in the past but I think the flexibility of Rectangle is worth having to remember and use a few keyboard shortcuts.
I think it’s unfortunate that so many third party apps are required, but with a bit of babysitting MacOS can be pretty decent to work with.

Ask HN: What GNOME Shell extensions do you use?
There's likely a delay so that you can use Alt-Tab to quickly go back to your last window without the pop-up showing. I use AltTab on macOS like this, which has a configurable delay.
