As for the template, you just circle the current date. This makes it flexible if you need multiple pages for the same date or end up skipping days. The labeled lines on the left hand side correspond to the 24 hours in a day (one row of boxes per half hour). I put my list of todos in the upper right hand corner, my daily schedule/what I do with my time down the left side, and then whatever extra notes pop up in the leftover space. At least with the ddvk method, you just select the "erase selection" tool normally (then switch back to the pen), and the button then activates whatever eraser tool is selected.

You lose the secondary button which is on the All-star EMR pen, which with this hack can be used for handy erasing https://github.com/ddvk/remarkable-stylus

If you use this hack, a short press of the button switches between the two most recent pens. The stylus must be close to the screen but not currently writting.
