Also worth noting that Avalonia compiled XAML is really cool, they use https://github.com/kekekeks/xamlx XAML compiler for that. This tool helps to discover bugs as early as possible (hope Wpf/Uwp/Uno/Xamarin Forms folks will incorporate compiled XAML support into their platforms)

Agreed. Only downside with Avalonia is a relative shortage of sample code and documentation. I found this sample really helpful in getting some drawing stuff to happen quickly in a recent personal project: https://github.com/wieslawsoltes/SpiroNet/blob/master/src/SpiroNet.Editor.Avalonia/Renderer/CanvasRenderer.cs
