If you’re only doing the one graph it makes more sense to just use an existing graph-to-data tool like this one.

Hi, I’m trying to reproduce the following diagram; any idea of how to plot the gaussian-like function and the two western spikes?
At least in the case of Linux Debian, the cross-link to the project's homepage appears no longer accessible. Is it because the developer reorganized his web site? An alternative to scan the phase diagram can be Ankit Rohatgi's webplotdigitizer (Windows/Linux/Mac, can be used from the web browser).

Perhaps the permitted latency (finance sector was mentioned) is too short for (interpreted) Python and matplotlib, and analysis and visualization is better off with e.g., Fortran/C and gnuplot instead (2022_firingcosts is just one example from few picks of Fortran in econonmics, the author of this compilation is a financial analyst using Python, R, and Fortran as his tools).
