Is there a overlay that lets you put custom icons and reacts with the action layers? I want to imitate this:
The steam controller overlay he uses is VSC View.

Secondhand controller input issues - Hardware or Software issue?
I don't know about event logging. There's also steam-gyro-for-cemuhook, sc-controller and I believe VSCView which can all directly communicates with the Steam Controller. Perhaps one of those can log the inputs received.

Left trigger also gives joystick input
I checked in steam controller config and VSCView (https://github.com/Nielk1/VSCView) both show the same thing; the analogue stick going right when the left trigger is pulled, regardless of profile.

Killing Floor 2 with the steam controller.
That overlay come from this program right here: https://github.com/Nielk1/VSCView/releases You just need to set it up in OBS so it records the program's window and apply a chroma key.

Better Haptics for Touch Pad Joystick
Only critique would be to use the VSCView overlay to display controller touches. https://github.com/Nielk1/VSCView I know trying to "show" haptics is difficult, but at least when you're displaying in-game examples you can display your controller input.

How to run Diablo 2 resurrected on steam link
I'd use https://github.com/WombatFromHell/OriginSteamOverlayLauncher, works great for battle.net games.
- Controller input being read as as mouse and keyboard

How to play windows store games?
Either GlosSI or OSOL are likely what you're looking for.
-
Windows 11 games with a launcher have no controller
You'll probably want to ask on r/WindowsOnDeck to get a better response, but I think there are two basic routes to try here. One is to try to force the Steam overlay to work with something like GloSSI or OSOL. The other is to use 3rd party drivers for the Deck's controls.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition via Origin
I think part of the problem is the launcher. It seems that whenever I launch any .exe of the trilogy (ME1-3 themselves or the launcher .exe) while I can load into the launcher, controller input does not work. I am only able to navigate the menus and the game itself by switching to mouse mode via the back button on my controller and then using the right stick to navigate. This, naturally, is not functional for actually playing the game. I've tried dozens of fixes now, from adding different .exes, using the .exes with the OriginSteamOverlayLauncher, launching Origin itself through Steam and then launching the game from origin within steam, starting the programs from the host and client in different orders, etc. I've run steam and origin in compatibility modes, as admin, and using a number of secondary launchers and mods. Nothing works. The game simply won't recognize the controller.

Best way to play/broadcast Epic Games in Samsung TV in different rooms? (via Steamlink app maybe?)
You can use osol to avoid this .

How can I Get Hitman 3 (bought on epic) to work with steam remote play?
Try OSOL and look here for more detailed instructions. I hope this helps, and happy gaming

Nvidia kills off GameStream on Shield, points users to Steam
That's when you start breaking out tools like GloSSI and OSOL to try to get unruly games in line. I've had to use one or the other get Steam Input to work with Amazon Luna running through Microsoft Edge, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order on Origin, and Far Cry 4 on Ubisoft's launcher. None of those worked when simply added to Steam normally, but were made to work with extra tools.
