Don't forget about hosts.deny (but you probably need it at your router if you are behind one).

How to add custom blocklist?
I think the main source I use that doesn't seem to be in rethinkDNS is the Ultimate Hosts Blacklist's hosts and/or hosts.deny files.
-
Adblock from MX Linux
So it presumably has the same function as a hosts file. You can find examples like this which is portable to any Linux (or Windows) installation.

Goodbye chrome, hello Opera Gx, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Brave!
One thing I can suggest that will ALWAYS work is blocking known ad websites on host file level: https://github.com/Ultimate-Hosts-Blacklist/Ultimate.Hosts.Blacklist (or equivalent, there's a lot of resources for it if you look it up)
- Blocklist of all Facebook domains (2016)
- John Oliver Blackmails Congress With Their Own Digital Data - The âLast Week Tonightâ host paid shady brokers for lawmakersâ digital histories â promising not to release the info so long as Congress passes legislation protecting all consumersâ data
- /etc/hosts

Google has a secret deal with FB called âJedi Blueâ that they knew was illegal
that is way obsolete by now. you need to be using Brave with ublock origin, this dns service https://github.com/Ultimate-Hosts-Blacklist/Ultimate.Hosts.B... ClearURL's, HTTPS Everywhere, and Random User Agent. I also use whoogle for a local privacy enhancing filter of google data with all ad elements stripped out (and that is if I even use google I usually use ddg).

Radar Maps: $0.50 per 1K map loads
No idea, api.radar.io is on the block list since January 2020.
The commit's comment is "major update from adaway.org"

Browser extensions spy on you, even if its developers don't
You can also use a declarative adblocker like uBlock Origin Lite [1], which only provides the browser with a list of elements to filter, but doesn't have any permissions to read content or perform requests. Or simply use your hosts file to apply OS-wide filtering with no browser add-ons needed: https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts
Be aware that if you use these "passive" blocking methods, there are some sites like YouTube where you will see ads, because in these cases it's necessary to actually manipulate page content to hide them. What you can do is use a traditional adblocker but enable it only for these few sites where the declarative approach is not enough, take a look at [2] for more details.

[Paid Release]CCAdsBeGone - Customized Ads Blocking At Your Fingertips
There is one main GitHub that I found (could be many many more) and based my research on - https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts this GitHub contains many many different hosts for different purposes, you can just download one and upload the one you want to use from CCAdsBeGone settings, if you feel the default shipped in file of the tweak is not sufficient for your needs.
When I select my custom hosts file, it basically breaks internet. However, if I choose a custom hosts file that is a copy of the dev's default, or if I just add a few lines to it, it will work. If I add too many lines, or use a different hosts file altogether (like the ones recommended by the dev), all connectivity breaks. Of course the latest official LetMeBlock is installed and mDNSResponder killed/restarted. I'm using Dopamine on A12+.

Having trouble blocking domains on netguard
Currently using the default netguard hosts file to block domains. The downlaod url is https://www.netguard.me/hosts and It just downloads the default stevenblack host file. But I want to block more stuff that the default does not block so I looked at Stevenblack github. The problem is that when I put in the hosts file download url, the domains do not get blocked. Such as if I use the fake news host then go to a fake news domain, fake news is still showing. Same thing when I download the hosts file then import it. Is there a fix for this in the app so I can block these domains?

Outlook now ignores Windows' Default Browser and opens links in Edge by default
