Just an FYI you need to download and put this python script in "scripts" underneath your Cura configuration directory and then activate it in Cura under Extensions->Post Processing->Modify G-Code: https://github.com/KenHuffman/UltimakerCuraScripts/blob/main/scripts/CreateV2NeoThumbnail.py Link to the latest mriscoc release: https://github.com/mriscoc/Ender3V2S1/releases/tag/20230312
- Latest mriscoc firmware supports Ender-3 V2 Neo previews!

Displaying Ender-3 V2 Neo thumbnails
Screenshots of thumbnails from Cura, the V2 Neo's display, and OctoPrint are here.
-
New version of the Slicer Thumbnails plugin released
Thumbnails in the Ender-3 V2 Neo format are generated by Creality's own slicer (which is an old version of Cura) or if you are running a newer version of Cura and use my https://github.com/KenHuffman/UltimakerCuraScripts plugin.
-
Optimized firmware for Ender3 V2/S1 3D printers.
One last nice feature of this firmware is that in the next release you will be able to embed thumbnails into your sliced gcode files using the CreateV2NeoThumbnail post-processing plugin:
-
Ender 3 v2 neo
Thumbnail works just need a python script, someone's made it and it's already on Github
-
All my print previews (other than the 2 that came with the printer) show this. How do I get the real preview?
If you have Cura 5 and an Ender 3 v2 Neo, try these instructions: https://github.com/KenHuffman/UltimakerCuraScripts.

Print Preview on Ender-3 V2 Neo
Re-wrote the Cura plugin script that was not generating the preview in the format expected by the V2 Neo. The code is here: https://github.com/KenHuffman/UltimakerCuraScripts/blob/main/scripts/CreateV2NeoThumbnail.py

Displaying Ender-3 V2 Neo thumbnails
If you use OctoPrint, the version just released (1.0.2) of its Slicer Thumbnails plugin supports displaying those thumbnails as well. Upgrade if you use that plugin. Its a great plugin.

New version of the Slicer Thumbnails plugin released
The latest version (1.0.2) of the Slicer Thumbnails plugin supports displaying gcode thumbnails that are also supported by the Ender-3 V2 Neo firmware. If you have the standard Ender-3 V2 Neo firmware, I would suggest you upgrade that plugin.

Print finishes but octoprint still thinks it's printing
this all works as expected as far as the printer is concerned, just octoprint still thinks the print is InProgress, however, looking at the gauges on the dashboard (1.19.9) on octoprint show cooling down of the bed/extruder and the fans all being off. I do have cura adding a thumbnail to the print with https://github.com/jneilliii/OctoPrint-PrusaSlicerThumbnails

No more moving the SD card around for me! Octolapse is really cool as well.
But when I got the Anycubic Vyper, I started with Octoprint straight away and all prints come out perfect. Also really happy about it. Such an improvement compared to the SD solution. Also the preview you get with https://github.com/jneilliii/OctoPrint-PrusaSlicerThumbnails is great to see all the designs you have stored on octoprint.

Loving Prusa Link compared to octoprint
Yeah. Here's the one I use by jneilliii
