You might need to use something like Universal Control Remapper to invert the axis on an OS level. I don't believe the game has a way to do so. If the driver software for that supports it, that's likely a better solution.

UCR - i think also supports ds4 output.

Ahh, no, sorry, I missed that. To combine your analog stick and keyboard buttons into a single emulated Xbox controller, the only thing I can think of would be UCR https://github.com/Snoothy/UCR

The other option is the slightly more complicated Universal Control Remapper (by Snoothy and evilC).

DCS Scratchpad, Open Kneeboard, Joystick Gremlin and HidHide, VoiceAttack, Tacview, and if I may self-promote for a moment, DCS AutoMate.

Easiest way to set it up quickly is to use this Tool to set up a base mappings file, from there you can edit it using this Guide. Joystick Gremlin is another great tool to get the most out of your hotas in any game. I find going hands-on-throttle-and-mouse a better approach for MW5 though, tracing lasers is a big part of using them and its hard to get that with a stick. as for VR as others have said VRWarrior to get started, along with Cockpit Glass, In the pit, and/or Immersive Cockpit will help with immersion, just be careful of mod conflicts.

Joystick Gremlin. Read how to set it all up along with Vjoy to make a Virtual Device. Once you set it up, everything should work normally.

I thought I'd found the key in this thread on the Github: https://github.com/WhiteMagic/JoystickGremlin/issues/76, but it doesn't seem to work (or I'm doing something wrong.)

Maybe software like Joystick Gremlin would do the trick.

Same here, it means I can switch between flying and racing by just selecting a different Joystick Gremlin profile. I use it to add a custom curve to the pedals (because the travel a little differently on mine) and to map them into a single new axis which I assign as rudder
