What is the definitive way to play Ultima IV?
4.3) Not included in Pix's patcher (yet) is the Ultima 4 DOS Randomizer https://github.com/Fenyx4/U4DosRandomizer. Disclaimer: I wrote this. It is still in alpha and doesn't have a UI yet so isn't the most user friendly. It has lots of optional flags that can be applied WITHOUT needing to randomize the game. The fixes include all the conversation fixes from C64 and 1.01 and adds some other ones. Has an alternative Hythloth Fix. It also has flags for quality of life upgrades. But it isn't compatible with the Music patch yet. (And more fixes coming soon!)
