Greetings. I have an HP Omen 15 laptop with Ryzen 7 5800H CPU which has Vega 8 iGPU. It has 512MB dedicated VRAM. I understand that it's dynamic and increases itself when needed. But this doesn't work everywhere so I need to be able to set it manually. My BIOS version doesn't have that option. Neither HP nor AMD providing something like this (at least not for my laptop). So I saw this while searching. There are videos on youtube about how it works. I wanted to know:

Yesterday I discovered a BIOS tweaking tool Smokeless UMAF and played around a bit to see what it could achieve. After undervolting Pcore/Ecore/Cache of my 13900HX to -120mV/100mV/100mV I encountered AC/DC Loadline options under Core/IA VR Settings.

You need to download Smokeless UMAF from here and boot from a USB with copied files after disabling SecureBoot.

for some reason smartshift works really well on the g15ae you could try giving amd formbrowser a go https://github.com/DavidS95/Smokeless_UMAF and see if that works it most likely will break most controls on the cpu and gpu youll have from the manufacturer side and youll have to find alternatives to manage it but im just a person providing the information what you do with it is none of my business nor my responsibility

My gaming laptop has been faithfully running Tumbleweed for 8 months. The people at Asus-Linux have done a great job with bringing over every feature I've wanted.

Have you installed the https://asus-linux.org/ utilities? Either way, you could ask in the asus-linux discord server since I figure they'd probably know how to solve this.

I know I'm a little late, but anyways... Since you're using Fedora, I'd highly recommend AsusCTL. This was the only way I could get mine to stop charging past a certain point. :)

I think Ubuntu 22.04 with the default kernel will likely cause issues or not even work at all unfortunately. It is really recommended to use the latest Fedora or Arch for the best experience: https://asus-linux.org/
