ShinyWebAppWithFormAndLeafletMap
This repo contains the code to build a webapp for data collection and viewing the map on a leaflet map using R Shiny. The specific webapp that I built is aimed to collect data of sustainability practices of various eateries around the world, in the times of climate change. (by Nirzaree)

Use spreadsheet as data source?
I have used google sheets as a data source before. One can feed it with google forms (to populate rows) and it can handle concurrent users entering stuff. Never did ~1000 though— that’s a lot. There is a tidyverse package, googlesheets4, that reads the sheets. It works fine. There are similar packages for excel.

R Shiny Input UI
If you can do it programatically, you can do it with Shiny (its just the interface). Here is an api for working with Google sheets (https://googlesheets4.tidyverse.org/).
- Need help converting google sheet to pandas dataframe, without google API or public viewing setting.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing ShinyWebAppWithFormAndLeafletMap and googlesheets4 you can also consider the following projects:
DesktopDeployR - A framework for deploying self-contained R-based applications to the desktop
dplyr - dplyr: A grammar of data manipulation
absmapsdata - Use ABS ASGS data easily in R
ExcelDataReader - Lightweight and fast library written in C# for reading Microsoft Excel files
echarty - The goal of echarty is to provide a minimal interface, a “glue”, between R and ECharts, then let your R data lists build the chart. There are utilities included to assist with data preparation, Shiny with proxy and JS plugins. Have the full functionality of ECharts in R with minimal overhead!
unpivotr - Unpivot complex and irregular data layouts in R
