I am attempting a modded career playthrough and while doing a contract I came across this. I can't find anything relating to this biome in game or anywhere online. Does anyone know where this "cold shores" biome could be on Kerbin?
the "Cold Shores" and "Cold Ocean" biomes are added by Parallax 2.0. If you want to find where they are without "cheating" you can always use SCANSat(It's listed on CKAN and fully compatible with the latest version) to map the planet, it only takes a few days.

Rocket Carrying North Korean Spy Satellite Crashes into Sea
In this vein, I highly recommend the RP-1 mod set for KSP1, which introduces (among other things) ullage and engine start failures, launching from a realistic Earth. Really gave me a huge appreciation for the difficulty of achieving orbit.

How to do get mechjeb maneuver planner to activate the engine I want it to use and not just use the rcs?
I would venture to day Mechjeb is more or less required for RSS/RO. There’s this tutorial on using it for accent. Otherwise it isn’t very different from stock.
