Hey! I am trying to connect an optical encoder to arduino. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong? More information (code, data sheet) in the comments.

Thanks! Your post really helped. As I said, I am completely noob to this. I try to approach the problems with a kind of logic and try to alter a few things, so the code can do what I want. Seems that maybe some libraries have far too complex structure (or so it seems to me, at least), so I looked for library alternatives and I chose to use this.

Rotary encoder only puts 0 and 1 (or -1) out
