GamesGraph, an advanced backlog organizer + discovery queue. I'm improving Linux support, and I would love some beta feedback!
There is a Firefox extension that manage to display protondg rating for each game while using Steam in browser which also links to the relevant protondb page. Any chance to peek how they did that and use a similar method?
-
Some games get a verification badge purely because they are popular, even if they don't meet the requirement.
I have this one for Firefox: https://github.com/tryton-vanmeer/ProtonDB-for-Steam and it's great

I'm working on a chrome extension that pulls data from ProtonDB to display the Medal and Verification Status
I'm using this one on Firefox, but I like the idea of seeing the status in the list instead of needing to go to the store page for each game.

I made a ProtonDB integration with the steam website
Ohh, ya, it looks like something like this already exists. But mine have few things that https://github.com/tryton-vanmeer/ProtonDB-for-Steam doesn't. - Shows the rating even in the popup box when you hover some game. (so you don't have to open game's page to check for its rating) - Shows the current tier as well. You know, some games broke after an update or its performance get worse. So it shows the current tier too.
- How do i know a game will run on linux before i buy it from steam?
-
Should Steam have an in-built proton DB?
It should. I just use steampowered.com on Firefox with the ProtonDB for Steam add-on.

Asus ROG Ally review: it’s time to stop pretending Windows is the answer
Here are some numbers I've extracted from ProtonDB:

Visible impact by the Steam Deck in ProtonDB data
About a year ago I've written a custom set of scripts to parse the public data from ProtonDB locally generating visual graphs to see how relative progress is moving. Today I updated the graphs again which I didn't since February and the launch of the Steam Deck made quite an impact in the ratings.

Is Proton now the all cure to PC Gaming On Linux or we not 99% there yet?
Here is the source for the numbers: https://gitlab.com/TheJackiMonster/protondb-evalute (I wrote a little Python script some time ago. ^^)

More than 400 Titles Ready (Verified and Playable) for the Steam Deck
From statistics we can actually expect to have similar compatibility across all the Linux distributions. ProtonDB states that from all reported/tested games, about 66% is recommended by at least one to be playable. The amount of playable and verified games (the sum of both) by Valve is also about 66% of their tested games. When you rank all reports on ProtonDB with a sensible metric, you will also get about 66% reported as playable (I have actually written a Python script to do just that).

Proton Has Enabled 7000 Windows Games on Linux
The number is definitely accurate. I have written a script in the past to evaluate the protondb-data which is publicly available at Github. The script will categorize newer reports into the old categories and provides an overall category from the most given one by all reports to a specific game.

Linux Gaming Predictions for 2021, with 11 guests including Chris Were, HexDSL, Corben Dallas, and more!
Wine/Proton will definitely improve. We are currently at about 62% (I checked via this tool) compatibility overall. So guessing it will increase to about 70% (even without working anti-cheat) is a good estimate.
What are some alternatives?
