There's actually a desktop app for this! I got tired of always having a tab open for Google Messages so I have this running all the time now and it works great.

Yesterdays update broke something on my laptop and PC
I think I got the kernel update linux-image-5.15.0-43-generic yesterday and since then after rebooting my android messages app stopped working, I can see it is running in the process background but it will not show up on screen. https://github.com/OrangeDrangon/android-messages-desktop

For anyone using Android with macOS, you can install messages.google.com as a PWA (from Edge) and use it as an iMessage replacement when connected to your Android Phone - You need to download the official Google Messaging app from the Play Store, too.

File Manager like WinRar, WinZip, 7zip, etc., on iOS thats open source?
Then it's easier. There is a community list that took 5s to find and there seems to be nothing in there that fits your description.

What can we do to encourage Reddit to give us a settings option to turn off that annoying floating scroll-down button on the mobile app?
Not an ios guy.But why don't you give Beam a look or one of the reddit clients mentioned here ( just do a 'find in page' ->search for reddit )
