Are Amiga 500s beginning to be overpriced or have they always been like this?
And for a fancier alternative, consider miSTer.

Vertical scrolling issue w/ MiSTer on Sony KV-36HS420 thru HDMI to Component adapter
You need to update your mister ini. The ypbpr=1 setting is no longer supported and you need to use vga=ypbpr instead. This was changed when s video got added. You can get the latest ini here https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/blob/master/MiSTer.ini

This could be huge!
I went ahead and read the thread on it and... yeah, Sorg is firm. He cites a couple reasons which I understand though fundamentally disagree with. Oh well.

any update on the maxi version of the A500 mini?
Consider getting an actual A500 or a miSTer at that point.

Mister Fpga
Hello all, I recently started Youtube channel, I want to focus on gaming & especially retro games/systems. Each week I plan to upload video of this type, I have interest in both hardware emulation eg Mister fpga & software emulation such as; OpenEmu etc. For example FPGA emulation acts the same as original hardware so it is higher quality & software emulation relies solely on mimicking original hardware. Which do you prefer/why? https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/Arcade-Cores-List The link above; will be were I go through each core & decide which to make Youtube content of.

SNES S-APU replacement chip ever possible?
It's certainly possible if someone wanted to put the effort into it. There is already an open source SNES FPGA implementation, so you wouldn't be completely starting from scratch. I think CPU and PPU replacements for the non-1CHIP models would be a better place to start though, because those are notoriously failure-prone.

Are there any alternatives to the DE-10 for fpga gaming?
SNES core, this emulation mistake on relatively popular Ogre Battle was reported in November and closed last week.

Left to right: Real Genesis, Pi 3B+ with "1" run-Ahead, Pi without Run-Ahead, MiSTer (using low lag retro-bit USB controller and isitsnappy.com app)
i am confident runahead=1 should be possible with snes9x on pi4. and what specific accuracy trades do you mean with, say, nestopia? i understand the meme about mister being more accurate, but compared to the best of software emulation on SNES and NES it's at best the same. even compared to older emulators, you'll be struggling to find real world differences, never mind noticeable ones. i note the mister snes core's github issues list is not empty.

good alternative retro machine if you don't want to setup your RetroPie
show your working. mister is only as accurate as its programming, which is lifted from emulator software which have already done the RE for the chips inside classic consoles. i think 'theoretically most accurate' is a better description. there's still issues: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/SNES_MiSTer/issues

Playing Mario rpg and MSU-1 mods
those games use the CX4 chip, which is supported by MiSTer so yes they will work, I believe MiSTer will play all retail SNES games, but there may be some very obscure chip that it doesn't support or something.
